París Express

Es posible visitar París en un día si sabes como. Hicimos noche en Londres y partimos en coche para coger el Eurotunel desde Folkestone a Calais. Una escapada en toda regla. Mochila ligera y las zapatillas más cómodas de mi armario. Parecía una locura, pero he de decir que para haberlo planeado en dos días como quien dice nos salió muy bien la jugada. Todo es mas fácil si conoces a alguien que vive allí claro está, y te hace una ruta fantástica como las que nos hizo a nosotros Iratxe (¡gracias moza!).

Yep! It´s possible to visit Paris in one day if you know how to do it. We spend the night in London and we woke up really early to get the Eurotunnel from Folkestone to Calais. I would call it ” a “proper” roadtrip. I grabbed the lightest package ever and the most comfortable trainers. It was mad, but I have to say that even with a short planning we managed to get well-organized. Everything is easier if you know someone local so they know where to take you, as my friend Iratxe did (Thanks!).

Me encantó París…su luz, su magia, sus crepes, croissants, Trocadero, sus vinos, el Barrio Latino (Quartier Latin), sus edificios, los bolsos de Longchamp (mi favorito es Le Pliage), Châtelet, Pompidou, Les invalides, Les Marais (Barrio judío), Madeleine, Pigalle, Place de la Concorde, Champs-Élysées, Parisinos y Parisinas con la baguette en el bolso…¡ah! y sus puertas (a medida que me vayáis conociendo os daréis cuenta de mi obsesión por las puertas antiguas, ¡no puedo resistirme, son mi perdición!)

I loved Paris…the lights, its magic, crepes, croissants, Trocadero, wines, Le Quartier Latin, its buildings, the bags of Longchamp (my favorite is Le Pliage), Châtelet, Pompidou, Les invalides, Les Marais, Madeleine, Pigalle, Place de la Concorde, Champs-Élysées, Parisians with the baguettes on their bags…and the doors (as long as you meet me you will notice how much I love old fashioned doors, I really like them!).

Louvre Galeries Lafayette Nos hospedamos en Le Quartier Bercy. Esta en una zona tranquila cerca de la parada de metro de Daumesnil. Un hotel muy cuco y con un diseño muy moderno en las habitaciones. Me gustó mucho que nos dejaran unas manzanas encima de las almohada, todo un detalle. En París, todo esta dividido en distritos, algo que no sabia (viene a ser algo como los códigos postales). Le Quartier Bercy está situado en el distrito 12.

We stayed at Le Quartier Bercy. It is located in a quiet area of Paris and the closest underground stop is Daumesnil. It is a nice hotel with a very modern design in their rooms. I liked the fact that they placed apples over the pillows in the room, such a nice welcome!.In Paris, all is splitted into districts (something like postcodes). Le Quartier Bercy was placed in district 12. Por supuesto en nuestra ruta no pudo faltar Notre Dame.

Of course, in our way we had to stop at Notre Dame cathedral. Tour Eiffel En nuestro camino conocimos a Leo & Pipo. Artista parisino desde 2008. ¡Me encantan!

On our way we met Leo & Pipo. Parisian street artist since 2008. I love them! Nos encontramos con la La Fountain Stravinsky, creada en 1983 por los escultores Jean Tinguely y Niki de Saint Phalle. La última vez que fui al museo Guggenheim en Bilbao, tuve la suerte de ver una exposición de esta última, merece la pena darse una vuelta por su página y conocer sus famosas y coloridas Nanas.

We found La fountain Stravinsky, created in 1983 by sculptors Jean Tinguely and Niki de Saint Phalle. Last time I visited the Guggenheim museum in Bilbao, there was an exposition of Niki de Saint Phalle, it´s worthy to have a look to her website and see her famous colorful “Nanas”.
