Siempre que vuelvo a casa por vacaciones mi hermana Martina aprovecha y me pide que le pinte algo chulo en un cabecero, alguna acuarela, que le pinte a ella para salir…la cuestión es que sin quererlo me he convertido en la “pintora” de la casa, y como vivo fuera de España, pues claro, la faena se me acumula, ya he perdido la cuenta. A mí me encanta, y es algo muy entretenido y que te mantiene la mente despejada (¡mejor que una clase de yoga te lo digo yo!). Este verano tocó pintarle unas iniciales en un bolso de playa. Una idea muy buena si quieres darle un toque personal a tu bolso, y hay una gran variedad de pinturas para textil donde elegir.
Como el bolso era rojo y blanco, escogí un azul marino. Con un lápiz marqué las iniciales. Os aconsejo que os hagáis una plantilla, yo fui un poco burra y me dejé llevar por la improvisación, esos días en los que “una cree mucho en sí misma y en sus capacidades artísticas”. La cara de mi hermana al verme tan lanzada era un poema. Al final quedó contenta, que conste, pero p l a n t i l l a, no os olvidéis de la maldita plantilla.
Un poco díficil pintar en lona, pero esto ya lo había podido pensar yo antes. Lo de añadirle alguna floritura a los lados es opcional, depende de lo inspirad@s que estéis ese día. Ya sabéis, a rescatar bolsos y a darle un nuevo aire con vuestra propia marca 🙂
Whenever I return home for the holidays, my sister Martina takes advantage and asks me to paint something cool on a headboard, some watercolor painting… the thing is I have unwillingly become the “painter” of the house. As I live abroad, every time I come, the jobs accumulate. I love it, and is very entertaining and it clears my mind too (better than a yoga class I tell you!). This summer she asked me to paint her initials on a beach bag. A very good idea if you want to give a personal touch to your bag, and there are a variety of textile paints to choose from.
The bag was red and white, I chose a navy blue and with a pencil I marked her initials. I normally use a template although this time I got carried away by improvisation, you know, one of those days that you “believe in yourself and in your artistic abilities”. My sister´s face was speechless. In the end she was happy with the result, but use a t e m p l a t e, do not forget the damn template.
Painting on sailcloth is a little hard but, when I realized this, it was too late… you can add some features on both sides of the initials, it is optional, it will depend on how inspired you are. Now you can rescue those fabric bags to give a new look with your own brand 🙂
